„Snezhanka“ Kindergarten, Central district, Plovdiv city was opened on 16.03.1970 as a weekly kindergarten.
The building was specially built for the purpose and has a capacity of 104 children. The kindergarten today operates with six groups with a capacity of 150 places for children, from first to preparatory groups.
In 1971, the building was remodeled and the kitchen block was connected to the central building with an architectural connection. The new room is used as a reception room for the children.
In 1974, the construction of a gymnasium and an indoor swimming pool began, which were opened on 03.03.1978. The first swimming coach was Hristina Popova from the Lokomotiv-Plovdiv Physical Education Society.
The academic year 1979/1980 began with two new groups housed in an annexed building in the yard of the kindergarten.
Since 1982 until 1984, the kindergarten was a base for PU „Paisiy Hilendarski“.
MISSION:
- Maintaining a high quality and efficiency of the educational process in the „Snezhanka“ DG, Plovdiv, in accordance with the requirements of the ZPUO, the strategies of the Ministry of Education and the municipal policies in the field of education with the aim of providing modern education to children of preschool age.
- Developing the degree of functional literacy and competences of children, guaranteeing their readiness for successful schooling.
- Development of children’s personality, upbringing in the spirit of national traditions, patriotism and patriotism, physical ability, with skills for a natural and healthy lifestyle.
- Increasing the professional and digital competences of pedagogical specialists and applying innovative pedagogical models in the educational process.
- Building partnership and interactions with the parent community to participate in the lives of children in kindergarten.

Kindergarten „Snezhanka“, the city of Plovdiv to preserve its appearance and traditions, and to develop as an educational institution with quality preschool education:
- Selection of highly qualified specialists with modern thinking, with motivation and a desire for innovative pedagogical models for successful implementation of standards for preschool education and development of children’s personality.
- Focus on the professional development and qualification activity of pedagogical specialists, aimed at acquiring new competencies to guarantee the quality of the educational service provided by the educational institution.
- Implementation of the different forms of organization of preschool education laid down in the new ZPUO and activities for children’s expression with support for increasing literacy, reducing and preventing premature dropout and early leaving the education system.
- Modernization of teaching methods and modernization of the material environment.
- Implementation of inclusive and supportive education with provision of a team of highly qualified specialists for general and additional support to children in need.
- Development of knowledge, skills and habits of healthy eating and healthy lifestyle by providing round-the-clock medical care, healthy food and organization of the daily regime of study and play.
- In order to increase children’s literacy, reading campaigns are organized, book exchanges between children, library corners are set aside in children’s groups and they become a preferred place for familiarization with books, games and creativity.
